Then Tanya, the woman hired to protect her, starts having feelings for another member of the wedding party. I mean, that would be expected of a teenager, but not a woman in her mid 20's. She just wanted her special day and gave her dad continuous flack about having security precautions. The bride, Daisy, may be adorable, but she didn't seem to care at all that her life was threatened. The acting is occasionally a bit stiff and some of the character's behavior isn't realistic, given the situation. This movie is nothing spectacular, but it is a cute watch on a lazy day. The uneven realization of details keeps it from being exceptional, but it should be a pleasant experience for anyone who is likely to see it. UNDERCOVER BRIDESMAID is a good Hallmark Channel TV-movie that shows signs of some good work here and there. Nicole Paggi is surprisingly good as Daisy, the bride-to-be who starts as a ditz and remains one throughout, but one with heart. Miss Burns is all right as Tanya, but it's hard to differentiate the character's discomfort with the situation from Miss Burns' ability as an actress. The script tries to do too much for the cast and crew to handle, dealing with family issues, the mystery aspects - tracking down who, if anyone, is trying to harm the bride - and the revelation of Tanya's emotional background. The script is decent, but it feels as if the emotional transitions lack much subtlety as characters change but do so in neat, ratcheting leaps suddenly from one position to another. Hallmark tries a variation on MISS CONGENIALITY as Brooke Burns plays Tanya, a competent young woman working for a private security firm, goes undercover at a rich man's daughter's wedding. As such, if you see yourself as a potential fan, get the DVD and snuggle under the covers of your bed for a nice, warm, fun evening. The cast of Burns, Paggi, Hall, Harrison, Baldoni and all others, is very attractive and entertaining while costumes, sets, script and direction definitely measure up. Yes, its somewhat adhered to a formula and a "borrowing" of elements, but that's of little importance. But, will Jake distract Tanya from her main pursuit, which is to keep an eye on Daisy? For those that adore the film Miss Congeniality or light romantic comedy, it would be safe to predict a liking for this movie, too. Once a good-looking groomsman named Jake (Justin Baldoni) shows up, Tanya does start to lose some of her wariness and stiff demeanor. Soon, Tanya has to participate in group hugs, girly pre-bridal festivities and more. Naturally, Tanya hates the idea but has no choice, getting some moral support from fellow agent Henry (Shashawnee Hall). Thompson (Gregory Harrison), her dad, will spare no expense to make certain his daughter is safe. But, as luck would have it, she is assigned to go undercover as a bridesmaid to protect a lovely Texas heiress, Daisy (Nicole Paggi) who is about to be wed and has been receiving threatening letters. Therefore, these days, she is more concerned with karate chops than kisses. She herself, once in love, was jilted at the altar. This movie is an original in a good way.Tanya (Brooke Burns) is a covert law enforcement officer. Some parents will be fine with their children eight and up watching the film. We are glad to award this movie our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages twelve plus due to one utterance of language but parents should consult the content listing. Tanya doesn’t like weddings due to something that happened to her at one, but Jake seems to be the one who might help her to forget and forgive. And despite her dedication to her job, Tanya can’t help but like the bridesmaids and Daisy and a friend of Daisy’s named Jake. The characters are nicely developed in this story as Tanya gets to know various people and attempts to put the clues together as to who might want Daisy dead. Daisy has received death threats if she goes through with her wedding. Daisy does her best to encourage Tanya to get into the spirit of her upcoming nuptials despite Tanya’s devotion to her job and Daisy’s safety. What a delightful and original story! Brooke Burns is terrific as Tanya Harsin, an undercover body guard who is quite adept at fighting and protecting her assigned clients, in this case a young engaged woman named Daisy (Nicole Paggi).
